Lincoln Park Community Services Raises $175,000+ at Metamorphosis Gala
Organization Celebrates Second Location While Raising Funds to Continue Serving Chicagoans Experiencing Homelessness
It was an evening of celebration and Lincoln Park Community Services Metamorphosis Gala that took place on Friday, May 19th at Venue West (221 N Paulina) in Chicago. Approximately 150 supporters, members of the community and staff, were in attendance for an evening of cocktails, dinner and live auction which successfully raised over $175,000.
The highlight of the evening featured LPCS “Guests” Lillie Edwards and Larra Mattix offering moving testimonials as to how LPCS has helped them overcome hardships in their lives. Both women, along with other “guests” received a full makeover by Salon Edda in Lincoln Park in preparation for the evening.
LPCS CEO Cheryl Hamilton-Hill and Chairman of the Board Bob Burson honored those who generously gave to the Capital Campaign which helped build the second location in Old Town (1521 N Sedgwick) allowing for LPCS to serve more people experiencing homelessness.

“At Metamorphosis, we were deeply touched by the unity and strength of our community as we uplifted and empowered those facing homelessness,” explains Hamilton-Hill. “Our heartfelt gratitude goes to each and every generous supporter of LPCS, whose compassion and generosity have sparked a profound transformation in the lives of those in need. We extend our sincere appreciation to the exceptional contributors of the Capital Campaign, whose unwavering dedication and kindness have made an indelible impact.”
Lincoln Park Community Services (LPCS) brings communities together to empower those facing homelessness by providing essential services and support. In 2022, LPCS had its most signification year of growth providing essential services to 2206 individuals experiencing homelessness - and is on par in 2023 to serve many more.

Lincoln Park Community Services
Lincoln Park Community Services (LPCS) brings communities together to empower individuals facing homelessness and poverty to secure stable housing and make sustainable life changes. We serve individuals 18 and older who are experiencing homelessness or at risk of becoming homeless each year, through two locations: one in Lincoln Park and one in Old Town. We address the immediate needs of individuals such as food, showers, clothing, identification, and substance use or mental health counseling. In addition, we offer interim housing, to help stabilize individuals as they work towards employment and housing, by providing case management services and access to resources. LPCS also offers Permanent Supportive Housing, Drop-in Services, Street Outreach and hosts a growing Graduate Community.
Metamorphosis Society
The Metamorphosis Society is a group of philanthropic leaders who support and commit to the mission of Lincoln Park Community Services at the highest levels, with ongoing financial support. Society members support those experiencing homelessness and poverty by providing fundamental support and tools needed to secure stable housing and make sustainable life changes. Society members will be recognized in a multitude of ways including annually at the Metamorphosis gala and other special events, exclusive to those participating.
