'Lincoln Park Pirates' Lose Towing License
The latest decision in the Lincoln Towing saga puts the longtime infamous Chicago towing company in jeopardy.

CHICAGO, IL - Lincoln Towing, the infamous towing "pirates" that patrol parking lots on the city's North Side, is facing one of its toughest challenges yet. The Illinois Commerce Commission voted 5-0 to revoke the state license for Lincoln Towing Service at its meeting on Wednesday, several media outlets reported throughout the day. Representatives for the towing company located at 4882 N. Clark St. in the city's Uptown neighborhood have vowed to appeal the decision and hold that the company has a right to continue towing vehicles until the appeal is heard.

Regardless of the company's fate, Lincoln Towing has cemented itself in Chicago lore. Dubbed the "Lincoln Park Pirates" in a song by beloved Chicago songwriter Steve Goodman, the company has long been known for their questionable business practices and knack for towing people's cars whether the tow was justified or not.
