Üllo Wine Purifier Now Available on The Grommet

Remove Sulfites and Drink Pure Wine

The Chicago-based team behind revolutionary wine purifier Üllo, announces today’s launch on The Grommet. A product discovery platform, The Grommet features innovative and undiscovered products created with a purpose.

Launched in 2008, The Grommet has launched over 2000 products. While they only choose 3% of the thousands of products they canvass each year, The Grommet launches at least one new consumer product each weekday. From Maker culture, inventors, entrepreneurs and small businesses The Grommet shares the story behind the person and company through in-house editorial, video and lifestyle photography.

“I’m thrilled to be launching Üllo with The Grommet,” explains James Kornacki, founder of Üllo. “It’s great to be a part of a community of independent inventors and entrepreneurs.”

Founded in 2015 by Kornacki, Üllo began as the solution to a family member’s sulfite allergy. Growing up, Kornacki remembered his aunt not being able to drink wine because of her allergic reaction to sulfites. Years later, when he discovered that sulfites are one of the top most common food allergens affecting over 3 million people in North America, Kornacki made it his mission to solve the problem.

While Sulfites remain an essential part of the winemaking process, Kornacki proved that once the bottle is opened, they are no longer needed. In fact, some people even say removing sulfites can help prevent headaches and hangovers the next day.

It took 18 months to develop the Selective Sulfite Capture™ polymer resin featured in Üllo. Kornacki did all of the research and development out of his apartment, literally setting up a chemistry lab in his kitchen. The Selective Sulfite Capture technology process works by sequestering only sulfites and allowing other compounds in wine to flow through unaffected. The end result is a preservative-free glass of wine that tastes smoother and won’t cause sulfite-related reactions.

In addition to removing sulfites, Ülloincludes an adjustable wine aerator is made from BPA-free materials and fits on top of any wine glass or decanter or integrates into Üllo’scustom, hand blown glassware.

Üllo now purifies wine for over a quarter-million customers worldwide and is available in the US, UK, Canada and Australia.

Üllo retails for $79.99 with disposable filters sold in 6-packs $19.99, 10-packs, $29.99 and 15-packs for $39.99. To view the listing on The Grommet, please visit https://www.thegrommet.com/ullo. For product information or to view Üllo’s custom glassware, please visit www.ullowine.com
