Logan Square Home Destroyed In Fire, 3 Other Buildings Heavily Damaged
A massive plume of smoke was photographed billowing from the structure, which appeared to be a small multi-unit building.

CHICAGO, IL — A residential building in Logan Square was destroyed in a fire, according to authorities.
The incident occurred in the 2400 block of North Washtenaw Avenue, the Chicago Fire Department confirmed in a tweet about 6:40 a.m. Tuesday. Footage of the scene shared by the department showed the structure, which appeared to be a small multi-unit building, possibly a two-flat, emitting a massive plume of smoke, and, later, missing a large portion of its roof.
The department deemed the building "a total loss" and said the rear of the structure had collapsed, meaning it would have to be torn down. Three other buildings nearby were also heavily damaged, according to the department.
