Lumen Optical to Provide Free Eye Exams to Children Throughout Chicagoland for Back-to-School

Lumen Optical today announced they will offer free eye exams for any child, grades K-12, throughout the Chicagoland area. According to the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus, Illinois is one of 40 states that requires a vision screen or eye exam for children entering the Illinois School Districts. With over 26,000 kindergarten students enrolled in Chicago Public Schools during the 2016-2017 school year alone, Chicago and the surrounding suburbs are in no short-supply of children in need of eye exams.

Beginning July 11 and running through September 30, all children in need of the state required vision screenings for newly-enrolled students, or those simply due for a routine eye exam, are welcome to stop by any of the four Lumen Optical locations throughout the Chicagoland area. As the back-to-school chaos is just around the corner, Lumen Optical hopes to help families not only check an item off their to-do list but also ease some of the financial stress associated with children starting school.
