CHICAGO, IL — If you're looking to catch some amazing live music this weekend, you're in luck: Iconic musician Erykah Badu happens to be performing up north in Uptown. Meanwhile, sports fans can head to Streeterville to meet some of their favorite baseball players at the Cubs convention.
And in case you missed it, there's a lunar eclipse happening this weekend! Experience a magical night observing it at the Adler Planetarium at Museum Campus.

Cubs Convention

Moby Dick Read-a-Thon
Neighborhood: Rush & Division
Whether you’re reading it for the first time, or revisiting the timeless tale, now’s your chance to get into the classic Herman Melville novel “Moby Dick” in celebration of what would be his 200th birthday. It’s a book lover’s paradise, and it’s all free!

The Beach Chicago
Neighborhood: Streeterville
Who says you can’t have fun at the beach during a Chicago winter? At this instillation, created by a group of New York based artists, you can experience a large room filled with more than a million recyclable plastic balls, lifeguard chairs, umbrellas and nearly everything else you’d expect to see while out on the beach. Kick your feet up and enjoy it all for free at Navy Pier.

An Evening with Erykah Badu
Neighborhood: Uptown
Get your groove on with the ethereal neo-soul icon Erykah Badu at the Aragon Ballroom in Uptown. Enjoy all of her classic hits and new jams for a night to remember with friends, family, your significant other or on your own.

Purple Affair for the Bear
Neighborhood: The Loop
Experience a night filled with delicious drinks, yummy foods and plenty of dancing, all for a good cause! The Bear Necessities' Young Professional's Board is putting on this night of fun to help children who are currently battling pediatric cancer. You can grab a ticket for $100.
