Whether you're ringing in the Year of the Pig or indulging in an adult pizza party, here's what to do around the city this weekend.

CHICAGO, IL — This weekend, Lunar New Year celebrations abound, from the Chinese Lunar Year Parade in Armour Square to the Marz Year of the Pig Party in McKinley Park.

If you're looking to escape the cold without traveling far, you can experience tropical, botanical bliss at the Orchid Show in Glencoe. Or, taste test delicious ciders at the Cider Summit Chicago in Streeterville.

Chicago Auto Show

Neighborhood: Museum Campus

After 111 years, the Chicago Auto Show is still going strong. Experience the more than 2 million square feet of exhibits featuring the latest and greatest in the automobile industry. Whether you’re on the hunt for a new whip or simply want to check out the most up-to-date car technology, you can find it all here. Tickets are $13 for adults and $7 for children and seniors.

Chinatown Lunar Year Parade

Neighborhood: Armour Square

Dive in to the culture of China as thousands gather to view an unforgettable parade featuring all the traditions of the Chinese New Year including colorful dragon floats, intricate costumes, authentic music and so much more.

Where: Wentworth Ave. and Cermak Rd.

When: Sunday, Feb. 10 at 12:30 p.m.


Chicago Botanic Garden Orchid Show

Neighborhood: Glencoe

Take in all of nature’s beauty at the Chicago Botanic Orchid Show. With more than 10,000 beautiful orchids of every size and color, it’s a great tropical escape from the city’s sub-zero temperatures. There will also be live music and brunch at the Garden View Café.

Chicago Pizza Party

Neighborhood: Lakeview

We all know that Chicago has some of the best food in the world, and our pizza comes second to none. This weekend you have the delicious opportunity to indulge your taste buds with some of the best pizza pies from across the city along with a dessert lounge, bars, DJs and more.

Chicago Theater Week

Neighborhood: The Loop

Satisfy your drama fix with shows ranging from musicals to improv to plays and more! More than 200 theaters across the city will be hosting events for Chicago Theater Week, featuring some of your favorite established performers and newcomers alike. Ticket prices range from $15 - $30.

Cider Summit Chicago

Neighborhood: Streeterville

Come out and enjoy the 7th annual Cider Summit Chicago to taste test delicious ciders from across the globe. It’s the Midwest’s largest Cider Festival and you don’t want to miss it. Tickets are $40.

Marz Year of the Pig Party

Neighborhood: McKinley Park

With a dragon dance, fortune tellers predicting your future, food, brews and music, the Marz Year of the Pig Party is sure to be fun. Head out to McKinley Park for an awesome time and ring in the Chinese New Year the right way.
