Man Arrested After Biting Off Part Of Victim's Ear: Cops
Police said the man attacked a 51-year-old Art Institute employee Thursday morning.

CHICAGO, IL — A man has been arrested after police say he bit part of another man's ear off in the Loop. The attack happened across the street from the School of the Art Institute around 6:45 a.m. Thursday morning, police said. In a statement, the Art Institute said the victim was one of their employees.
Donnell Young, 53, has been charged with one felony count of aggravated battery causing great bodily harm and one felony count of aggravated battery in a public place, police said.
The Art Institute employee was standing on the sidewalk in the 100 block of South Michigan Avenue, when Young walked up and asked if he had a cigarette, police said. The employee said no, and Young punched him in the head and bit off part of his ear, according to police.

Police said the victim was able to take a picture of Young before he ran off.
The victim was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where his condition stabilized.

Police found and arrested Young later Thursday afternoon. He is expected in court Friday.
