Mayor Lightfoot condemned a notorious house party that went viral on Facebook Live as "foolish and reckless" amid the coronavirus pandemic.

CHICAGO — A notorious house party during the coronavirus stay-home order that went viral on Facebook Live was "foolish and reckless," Mayor Lori Lightfoot said Monday.
Lightfoot said the party, which reportedly took place Saturday on the West Side, "goes against all the things we've been talking about" related to social distancing under the statewide stay-at-home order.

Lightfoot said police are still investigating where the party took place, pledging to "get to the bottom of it."

"Every single person there who put themselves at risk puts the next person and the next person that they come into contact with at risk," the mayor said. "That's why that scene is so distressing."
Lightfoot urged people to report gatherings that appear to violate the stay-home order and social distancing guidelines to Chicago police.
