Mayor Thompson Launches “Move with the Mayor” Health Initiative
Kick Off at Proviso West High School on May 6

(Broadview, IL) – The national “Move with the Mayor” health initiative is coming to the Village of Broadview.
The initiative, led by the National Forum for Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention and which works with mayors across the country to challenge their communities to be more physically active, is being championed in Broadview by Mayor Katrina Thompson, who announced it at the Board of Trustees’ regular meeting on May 1.
“Mayors need to encourage their communities to be physically active to lower their chances of heart disease and its risk factors like high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and diabetes,” said Thompson. “Because I love to bike and golf for the fun and exercise, I am going to build Broadview’s ‘Move with the Mayor’ program around walking, biking and golfing.”

Thompson and residents will ride for one hour and have a hula hoop twirling event from noon to 1:00 p.m.
