Mostly Dry Week, Big Warmup To Near 90 By Friday In Illinois

A few showers are possible Monday afternoon, but most areas will remain dry the rest of the week.

ILLINOIS — The first full week of August will start with temperatures in the 70s, rising to the upper 80s by the end of the week, according to the National Weather Service.

Monday will be partly cloudy with a high of 77 degrees, and a few showers are possible in the afternoon, the weather service said. Most areas will stay dry the entire week, although a random showers could pop up, the weather service said.

There is also a high swim risk on Monday, according to the weather service. Northerly winds on Lake Michigan will result in high waves and dangerous swimming conditions.

Temps begin to warm later in the week, with a high of 81 on Tuesday, a high of 83 on Wednesday, a high of 86 on Thursday and a high of 88 degrees on Friday, according to the weather service.
