Mother Of 2 Drowns In Lake Michigan: Police

CHICAGO — The family of a mother of two who drowned last week in Lake Michigan is raising funds to pay for her funeral.
Police responded around 2:15 a.m. Sept. 5 after 46-year-old Kelly Jirgal dove into the lake and did not resurface in the 400 block of West Montrose Harbor Drive, according to police, who pulled her from the water.
Jirgal was rushed to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in critical condition, police said. She died around 6:15 a.m. of an accidental drowning, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.
