Free Tickets for 21 Chicago Area Museums Thanks to Museum Day Live! Event

Museums around Chicago and across the state, such as Adler Planetarium and the Museum of Contemporary Art, will be offering free admission for visitors this weekend as part of the national 12th annual Museum Live Day! event.

Sponsored by Smithsonian Magazine, the annual event lets people order a free online ticket for themselves and a guest to visit participating museums Saturday, Sept. 24.

Here's a list of the museums and cultural institutions in Chicago and northern Illinois that will be part of Museum Live Day! this year (facilities with free admission every day are listed):
