“A new initiative I’m most excited about is the National Back Office Cooperative (NBOC),” he added. “NBOC is a support program that provides other non-profits access to finance, technology and purchasing services to grow and increase their capacity.”

Torres originally joined the board in 2021 and has successfully worked with Tammy McMiller, the outgoing board chairperson, and Matt Weis, President and Chief Executive Officer of National Able Network to align on the growth of the organization.

“Tammy handed off a great organization,” Torres said. “She’s been extremely supportive, and I’m grateful to take the reins from such a capable servant leader. My role is clear – to support our customers and community. If they are thriving, then I count that as the true measure of success.”

Weis expressed his excitement for the new leadership. “We are enthusiastic as Angel transitions into the role of chairperson. HeAngel has been such a fantastic advocate of National Able Network, and I’m confident we will continue to successfully advance our mission,” Weis said.
