National Margarita Day in Chicago

On National Margarita Day, three local restaurants and bars will pay tribute to everyone's favorite tequila and lime libation. Gather your amigos and say "salud!" with these 'rita-centric specials on Thursday, February 22.

Cantina Laredo, offering modern Mexican cuisine in River North, will feature a Perfect Patron 'Rita made with Patrón Silver and Patrón Citrónge for $8 from February 22-24 (regularly $12.25). In addition, Cantina Laredo offers a bevy of hand-shaken specialty cocktails, including low-cal "Skinny Sips" ($8.75) and signature Casa 'Rita ($6 during happy hour, Monday-Friday 3:30-6:30 p.m.). Artango Bar & Steakhouse in Lincoln Square will offer Mango Basil Margaritas (tequila, mango puree, agave nectar, orange liqueur, lime and basil) for $7 each on February 22. Come for the libations and stay for dinner and a show, as Latin jazz guitarist Guillermo Paolisso will perform live from 7-10 p.m. Chef Saul Roman's menu, featuring authentic Argentine cuisine, may be viewed here.

Bites Asian Kitchen and Bar, located in Lakeview, will offer a $3 discount off all Bites cocktails on February 22, including the Bites Margarita, made with tequila, lime, ginger and salted rim ($7, regularly $10). Chef Derek Intapura's Asian-American inspired menu is perfect for pairing and sharing, featuring beef teriyaki sliders, squid ink fried rice, tuna tostada, salmon ceviche, edamame gyoza, ramen, taro fries and more.
