New Agency Will Investigate Chicago Police Misconduct

The city's Independent Police Review Authority will become the Civilian Office of Police Accountability.

The name change is the first step in a move to abolish the IPRA.

Currently, any incident in which a police officer shoots a suspect is sent to the IPRA for an investigation.
