Niles North Bomb Threat Briefly Interrupts School Day

A bomb threat called into Skokie police Monday was found 'not to be credible,' and after-school activities are continuing as planned.

SKOKIE, IL — Police were called in to Niles North High School Monday afternoon due to a bomb threat against the school. According to Skokie police and District 219 administrators, the school briefly implemented its "Hold in Place" procedure prior to their final period of class.

Police said the received a call regarding a possible bomb at 2:06 p.m. After investigating the campus, police and administrators determined the threat was not credible.

“We take any possible threat seriously because our top priority is the safety and security of our students and staff,” said Niles North Principal James Edwards in a news release.

Students ended up heading to their last period class a few minutes late. All after-school activities are set to continue as scheduled.
