NM–Chicago Presents $250K ALSF Grant to Lurie Children’s Hospital
The Innovation Grant awards Lurie Children's Hospital with $250,000 over two years beginning October 1, 2019.

As a supporter of the fight against childhood cancer, Northwestern Mutual – Chicago presented Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago with an innovation award on behalf of Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation to assist in funding the hospital’s innovative approaches to researching cures for childhood cancer.
“We are honored to partner with Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation in announcing to Lurie Children’s Hospital that they will be receiving an innovation grant to continue the fight against childhood cancer,” said Corey D. McQuade, managing partner of Northwestern Mutual – Chicago. “It is our office’s goal to see a future with an end to pediatric cancer and we are happy to see that ongoing fundraising efforts will be used to assist Lurie’s in finding a cure.”

Northwestern Mutual launched its national philanthropic focus on childhood cancer in 2012 to find better cures and treatments for childhood cancer while also providing family, patient and survivor support. Northwestern Mutual – Chicago, through its offices in Downtown Chicago, Deerfield, Oak Brook and Rosemont has raised more than $490,000 by hosting lemonade stands in their communities, participating in races as charity runners, playing in golf outings, contributing to Jeans Day, and attending special dinners. In 2016, the firm was recognized by the Northwestern Mutual Foundation with the Childhood Cancer Impact Award.
