“Mike”

Age 84, of Shorewood and formerly of Rogers Park, passed away Wednesday, January 9, 2019, at Edward Hospital in Naperville. Mike was born in Chicago, the son of the late David and Irene Kahn, residing in Shorewood the past three years. A U. S. Army veteran, he proudly served with the MP’s. Mike earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Northeastern University of Chicago. He was the former owner/operator, along with his brothers, of the family business, Jarvis Liquors Store.

Mike is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Nona (nee Barrientos) Kahn of Shorewood, his brother, James (Adriana) Kahn of Chicago; and sister-in-law, Pat Shaw of Chicago.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Edward Kahn (2009).

Visitation for Michael W. Kahn will be held on Sunday, January 13, 2019, from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral services at 2:00 p.m., at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet. As it was his request, cremation rites will be accorded following services and interment services will be held privately.
