Officers Attacked By Man On CTA Platform In Loop
Officers were responding to report of a stabbing in first block of West Lake when confronted by 'irate' man: Police

CHICAGO, IL — Police officers responding to a report of a stabbing Monday night were attacked by a man on a CTA Green Line platform at the State and Lake station in the Loop. WFLD reported Chicago Police said officers went to the platform in the first block of West Lake to look for the offender at 11:53 p.m., where they were approached by a 25-year-old man they described as "irate," who started fighting the officers.
According to police, that man wasn't involved in the stabbing, however officers used a taser on the man and took him into custody, the news report said. The man and one of the officers were taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where the man is still being treated and the officer has been released.
According to police, WFLD reported a 25-year-old man was stabbed in the chest, a 21-year-old woman was stabbed in the neck, and a 26-year-old man was beaten around 11:40 p.m. in the first block of East Lake Street. Police said all three were taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital where they're now in stable condition, WFLD reported.
