'This Old Cub' Ron Santo Documentary Re-Released With New Ending
Critically acclaimed documentary about Cubs great Ron Santo's remarkable life and career is being released on all on demand platforms.

This Old Cub, the poignant documentary about Ron Santo’s remarkable life and career is being re-released Tuesday with an new, updated ending capturing the endearing Cub’s legacy. The 2004 documentary was directed by the Cubs’ Hall of Famer’s son, Jeff Santo.
This Old Cub not only examines Ron Santo’s years as a player and broadcaster, but also his longtime struggle with juvenile diabetes that cost him his legs but failed to break his spirit. Santo passed away in 2010, but the crusade by fans and admirers saw Santo inducted posthumously into the Baseball Hall of Fame.
Noted Cubs enthusiasts Bill Murray, Dennis Franz and Gary Sinese, as well as the late great Ernie Banks, Johnny Bench, Willie Mays and Tommy Lasorda are interviewed onscreen. Actor Joe Mantegna narrates.
