Online Threat to Taft High School Revealed to Be Hoax
The threat, which turned out not to be credible, was posted to social media over the weekend and investigated by authorities.

CHICAGO, IL — An online threat to William H. Taft High School posted to social media over the weekend turned out to be a hoax, according to officials.
Principal Mark Grishaber informed parents about the threat in a security alert released Sunday. According to the alert, students told Taft staffers Saturday about "a post on social media that involved a potential threat to our school," which is at 6530 W. Bryn Mawr Ave. Chicago police and Chicago Public Schools Safety and Security were immediately contacted, and they investigated the posting.
The investigation revealed that the threat was a hoax and that students, faculty and staff were in no danger, the alert stated. Authorities also spoke with the person behind the fake threat.
