Patchy Fog This Morning, Unseasonable Warm Temps Before Cool Off

Here is a look at this week's forecast for the Chicago area.

Enjoy a warm start to the week.

Temperatures are expected to reach a high between 63 and 67 degrees on Monday and will remain warm until midday Tuesday when a cold front is expected to move through the Chicago area, according to the National Weather Service.

Also Monday morning, a hazardous weather outlook has also been issued for counties throughout the Chicago area due to a limited fog risk. Patchy fog will be possible and motorists are reminded to use caution on their morning commute.

There is a chance for rain showers on Monday night. There will also be a chance for showers on Tuesday, Election Day, when temperatures will reach a high between 56 and 60 degrees.

After that, temps are expected to drop off into the 50s for the rest of the week. The rest of the week is also expected to be free of rain.

  • Monday: Mostly sunny. Patchy fog in the morning. Highs in the mid 60s. South winds 5 to 10 mph.
  • Tonight: Partly cloudy in the evening...then cloudy with a 30 percent chance of showers after midnight. Lows in the lower 50s. Southwest winds 5 to 10 mph.
  • Tuesday: Mostly cloudy with a 50 percent chance of showers. Highs in the upper 50s. West winds 10 to 15 mph in the morning becoming northwest 10 to 20 mph in the afternoon. Near the lake... Gusts up to 30 mph in the afternoon.
  • Tuesday Night: Partly cloudy. Lows in the upper 30s in the suburbs...but in the mid 40s downtown. North winds 10 to 15 mph.
  • Wednesday: Partly cloudy in the morning then clearing. Highs in the mid 50s. North winds 10 to 15 mph.
  • Wednesday Night: Clear. Lows around 40.
  • Thursday: Sunny. Highs in the upper 50s.
  • Thursday Night: Mostly clear. Lows in the lower 40s.
  • Veterans Day: Mostly sunny in the morning then becoming partly cloudy. Highs in the lower 50s.
  • Friday Night Through Sunday: Partly cloudy. Lows in the mid 30s in the suburbs...but in the upper 30s downtown. Highs in the upper 40s to mid 50s.
