Patchy Frost, Record Rain, Flood Warnings For Chicago Area
A look at the weather forecast for the upcoming week for the Chicago area.

Cooler temps are expected to continue as we head into the work week with patchy frost in the forecast Sunday night. Temp late Sunday night are expected to drop into the 30s for portions of the Chicago area. And after heavy rains hit the area in recent days, the week ahead is expected to be dry.
As of Sunday morning, over 9 inches of rainfall was recorded in towns hardest hit by storms in the previous 48 hours. The towns with the most rainfall included Burr Ridge with 9.3 inches of rain; Lisle with 8.16 inches of rain; Napeville with 7.98 inches of rain; and Aurora with 7.72 inches of rain. Chicago saw record breaking rainfall as well with 4.19 inches of rain recorded at O'Hare International Airport. The previous record for that date was set in 2003 when 1.15 inches of rain fell at O'Hare.
The heavy rainfall lead to flood warnings being issued for rivers across the Chicago area. Rivers under a flood warning include: the Des Plaines River near Des Plaines, the Des Plaines River at Riverside, the DuPage River near Plainfield, the DuPage River at Shorewood, the East Branch of the DuPage River at Bolingbrook, the Fox River at Montgomery, the Fox River at Dayton and the West Branch of the DuPage River near Warrenville.
