CHICAGO — Pete Crow-Armstrong is joining the Cubs on Monday in Denver after a promotion out of the Minor League, but he’s not the only person in his family with a Major League connection.
The standout center fielder’s mother, Ashley Crow, is an actress and played Jenny Heywood, the mother of 12-year-old Billy Heywood, in the 1994 sports comedy “Little Big League,” about a boy who inherits the Minnesota Twins from his grandfather and makes himself manager.
Both Crow-Armstrong’s parents are actors, and Crow has appeared on television shows like “Heroes” and “Minority Report,” according to MLB.com, which noted “Little Big League” is Crow-Armstrong’s favorite film among his mother’s credits.
