Picking Me Foundation's Mental (W)illness

Commemorate Mental Health Month with an Event Honoring the Will it Takes to Live with Mental Illness

Picking Me Foundation invites you to commemorate Mental Health Month on Thursday, May 23rd, from 6:00-9:00 P.M. at 551 Live (551 N Ogden Avenue, Chicago, IL 60642). The event will offer food, including a s’mores bar, drinks, and live karaoke. Attendees will also have the opportunity to bid for fantastic items in a silent auction. Additionally, Mental (W)illness serves as a networking event for those who suffer or support those with mental illness. Beyond the dining and dancing, attendees can enjoy a Derma Art Gallery and a Living Community Art Piece!

For those unable to travel to Chicago, Picking Me Foundation encourages participants to “attend from afar” or make a donation. Ready to have a great time for a great cause? Tickets are available for $65 online or for $100 at the door.

About Picking Me Foundation
Picking Me Foundation NFP is a donor-supported nonprofit that spreads awareness and inspires acceptance for Body Focused Repetitive Behaviors- in particular Dermatillomania aka Skin Picking Disorder- for sufferers, supporters, and educational communities alike. Picking Me strives to encourage individuals to take back control from their OCD-related disorder, sharing why they are #PickingMe over their BFRB. Established in 2016 by Lauren McKeaney who struggles with Dermatillomania yet promotes Mental W(illness) daily, Picking Me serves an under-reported and misunderstood community of Skin Picking Disorder sufferers, who have only been recognized by the medical community as of 2013.
