Pizza Museum To Open In Chicago
"Every major city has multiple art museums. Pizza deserves at least two," the museum's founder said.

CHICAGO, IL — A tribute to all-things pizza is coming to Chicago Aug. 10 in the South Loop. The Roosevelt Collection development at 1146 S. Delano Court West will be the new home of the U.S. Pizza Museum, which will be open through the end of October. The grand opening weekend from Aug. 10 to 12 will feature complimentary pizza samples from Aurelio's Pizza, the museum announced.
Museum visitors can learn about the evolution of pizza culture through artifacts and interactive programming. The museum will describe how different styles of pizza became popular in the U.S. through memorabilia: menus, pizza boxes, toys, games, buttons, vinyl records and tools of the pizza-making trade.
Kendall Bruns, the U.S. Pizza Museum's founder, said Chicago was one of the cities that inspired him to document pizza history and "examine pizza on a deeper level."

"...in 2012 I started hearing about Pizza Brain in Philadelphia, the world’s first pizza museum and restaurant opened by the Guinness World Record holder for the largest pizza memorabilia collection, Brian Dwyer. It looked awesome," Bruns wrote on the museum's webpage. "Every major city has multiple art museums. Pizza deserves at least two."
Bruns announced that admission would be free for a limited time with an online reservation.
