Poor Air Quality On Monday, Temps In The 90s For Illinois

The week will start dry, but there is a chance for storms on Wednesday and Thursday.

ILLINOIS — The month of July will close out with warm, humid temperatures, as well as some chances for showers and storms, according to the National Weather Service. The week will start mostly dry, as Monday and Tuesday look to be sunny.

Monday and Tuesday both have a high of 93 degrees, according to the weather service. An air quality alert has also been issued for all day Monday due to poor air quality from elevated ozone levels and fine particles from western United States and Canadian wildfire smoke. The weather service advised that individuals with chronic respiratory issues should limit prolonged outdoor activity.

Conditions will turn more humid on Wednesday, which again has a high of 93, and there is a chance of storms, mainly north of Interstate 80 on Wednesday night.
