Portillo's Creates Year-Round Meal Subscription Service

CHICAGO, IL — Looking for a gift this holiday season for that friend or family member who really enjoys eating Portillo's? Or better yet, looking for a way to treat yourself and satisfy your craving for the Chicago restaurant chain's menu items?

Portillo's announced this week that it's offering a food subscription service — called Portillo's 365 — for the first time. For $365, "subscribers will receive some of our most popular dishes, delivered to their homes every other month," according to a company release about the service.

Think of it as being a member of the Portillo's of the Every-Other-Month Club.

Subscribers won't be able to choose what dishes they get when. Shipments are predetermined, and the schedule is as follows, according to Portillo's website:

• January: Italian beef sandwich deluxe package
• March: 10-pack of Chicago-style hot dogs with mustard, onions, relish, sport peppers, tomato, pickle and celery salt.
• May: Two full slabs of baby back ribs marinated in Portillo’s sauce.
  
• July: Italian beef sandwich deluxe package
  
• September: 10-pack of Chicago-style hot dogs with mustard, onions, relish, sport peppers, tomato, pickle and celery salt.
• November: Chocolate cake, plus frosting and a spatula for customers to frost the dessert themselves.
