Portillo's Launches New Menu Item: Meet The Rodeo Burger

CHICAGO, IL — Portillo’s has a new menu item, arriving just in time for summer. The Rodeo Burger is available now at all restaurants, Portillo’s announced Monday.

The sandwich features a third-pound charbroiled burger on a brioche bun with new thicker and crispier bacon, thin-sliced red onion, onion rings, melted American cheese, and tangy barbecue sauce.

“Who doesn’t love bacon? We already had good bacon, but now it’s even better,” said Garrett Kern, Portillo’s vice president of strategy and culinary, in a company news release.

In anticipation of the item’s launch, Portillo’s brought the burger — and new bacon — to a community of bacon experts, the residents of Bacon, Indiana. Portillo’s treated the town to burgers and received an honorary key to the city.

An iconic Chicago-area establishment, Portillo’s now has more than 75 restaurants across 10 states.
