Possible Measles Exposures Reported At O'Hare, Other Public Spots: Cook County Health
Health officials said the person also visited a suburban grocery store, department store and an immediate care center.

BRIDGEVIEW, IL — Health officials are warning the public about a possible measles exposure where the person recently with the disease recently visited O'Hare International Airport, as well as several other public locations.
According to the Cook County Department of Public Health, the following locations are points of public exposure:
- O'Hare International Airport - Terminal 5, between 10:45 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 24
- Fresh Farms, 8203 W. Golf Road, Niles, between 7:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. Thursday, March 26
- Marshalls, 8249 W. Golf Road, Niles, between 8 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Thursday, March 26
In addition, the person visited Endeavor Health Immediate Care Center in Mount Prospect on Friday, March 27. CCDPH is working with the location to identify and notify all people who may have visited specific areas of the immediate care center.

Health officials are urging residents to know their measles vaccination status and contact a health care provider if they may have been exposed to the virus. The guidance says measles is highly contagious, can remain in the air for up to two hours after an infectious person leaves an area, and can spread after a brief exposure of 15 minutes.

According to CCDPH, most people are vaccinated routinely in childhood and are not at high risk. It says the best way to prevent measles is vaccination, and that two doses of the MMR vaccine provide 97 percent protection. Residents who have not been vaccinated or are unsure of their status are advised to talk to their health care provider or schedule a vaccination appointment with a Cook County Health clinic at 312-864-1111.
