Record-Breaking Warmth Possible On Wednesday In Illinois

A high of 68 degrees is expected on Wednesday.

ILLINOIS — It won't feel much like December this week, as potentially record-breaking warmth is possible, with temperatures in the 50s and even 60s expected, according to the National Weather Service.

The week will start sunny on Monday and Tuesday, which has a high of 53 and 54 degrees, respectively. Rain is possible on Wednesday, but Wednesday will also be the warmest day of the week with a high of 68 degrees, the weather service said.

Rain and possibly storms are expected Wednesday night. The weather service said a cold front will push through the area on Wednesday night into Thursday.

Rain will start the day on Thursday, which has a high of 55 degrees, according to the weather service. Temperatures will steadily start to drop on Thursday, and the high on Friday will be 42 degrees.

Friday will be partly sunny, but there is a chance of rain and snow on Friday night, according to the weather service.
