Robert Morris University Illinois Names Jared Williamson Director of Athletics
RMU's Head Football Coach is the University's new Athletic Director

Robert Morris University Illinois Head Football Coach Jared Williamson has been named the new Athletic Director for the University. He replaces Megan Smith Eggert who had been in the position since 2007.
A graduate and football player at Mayville State University in North Dakota, with a graduate degree from Illinois State University, Williamson developed his coaching skills as the offensive coordinator at Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington. He came to RMU in 2010 following a national search to appoint the first head football coach in the school’s history. Starting with a 4-4 record in their first season of competition in 2011, he has never had a losing season and in 2016 the Eagles won their first Mid-States Football Association (MSFA) Midwest League championship. They advanced to the NAIA Football Championship Series for the first time in program history and Williamson earned the MSFA Midwest Coach of the Year honors.
Upon undertaking the position of Athletic Director, Williamson will be supervising the coaching and administration of over 50 athletic teams at five different locations in Illinois. “I wouldn’t have accepted this position if I didn’t have the best football staff in the country,” he said. “RMU has such good coaches in all our sports, and we are committed to promoting the same principles for achievement both on the field and in the classroom.”

In addition to the ongoing success of the football team, Williamson is exceptionally proud of the team’s GPA, which is over 3.0. “We have had 45 Academic All-Conference selections and Academic All-American players every year. It is a blessing to work at a university that gives student athletes the ability to succeed academically athletically and socially. I look forward to having a bigger role in the future of athletics at RMU.”
A resident of Yorkville, Illinois, Williamson and his wife Kelsey have five children.
