RMU’s nursing program has received certification from the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. CCNE is an autonomous accrediting agency, contributing to the improvement of the public's health. The Commission ensures the quality and integrity of baccalaureate, graduate, and residency programs in nursing. It is affiliated with the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN).

Additionally, the program prepares students to become registered nurses upon taking the NCLEX-RN exam and obtaining licensure from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR). It meets crucial national, state and local needs for baccalaureate prepared nursing professionals.

An important experiential component of the RMU Nursing program is the clinical rotations students complete at the affiliated hospitals and medical/nursing settings, including Northwestern Memorial, Weiss, Mount Sinai, Ingalls, Norwegian and Mercy hospitals; North Shore University HealthSystem, Plymouth Place and The Clare.
