Robert Morris University Illinois Reaches out for the Holidays

RMU students are involved in service projects throughout the year, but collecting toys and funds at this time of year spreads holiday cheer.

Professor Ed Dixon, advisor of the service organization Morris Men at Robert Morris University Illinois in downtown Chicago, assisted students in their annual gift drive, this year helping the Cornerstone Outreach Mission. Cornerstone operates a homeless shelter and offers services to those in need. "This year has been a great success and participation continues to grow," said Professor Dixon. "We've collected more donations than ever in clothing, toys and funds contributed by students, faculty and staff. We want to continue to build relationships with organizations in the community, and not just at Christmas time. They offer volunteer
opportunities for our students and help us build the reputation of RMU as a university that teaches our students to 'do well by doing good.'"

Students Karol Camacho-Gil of Tuscon, AZ and Jeff Sadecki of Oak Lawn were among the students participating in the project.
