No One In Custody In I-88 Shooting That Killed 1, Injured 3: Police
The shooting occurred early Sunday morning on Interstate 88 at York Road near Oak Brook.
OAK BROOK, IL — Authorities are continuing to search for the suspects involved in a shooting on Interstate 88 near Oak Brook early Sunday. The shooting, which occurred at about 1:15 a.m., killed one and injured three.
An investigation into the shooting shows shots were fired from a vehicle heading east on I-88 at another vehicle near York Road. No additional information has been released regarding the vehicle, and authorities have not said if the shooting was targeted or random.
A man inside the vehicle that was shot at sustained life-threatening injuries and was taken to an area hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. Another man was taken to the hospital before authorities arrived. He had injuries that were not considered life-threatening, according to a news release from the Illinois State Police.

Two other occupants in the vehicle, a man and woman, were treated at the scene from injuries sustained because of a crash that occurred after the vehicle was fired at, authorities said.
