CHICAGO — Five children were taken to the hospital Tuesday when a school bus rolled over on the Dan Ryan, according to authorities.

The rollover occurred around 2:30 p.m. at 35th Street, near Guaranteed Rate Field, state police said, adding no other vehicles were involved in the incident.

The children were taken to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening, according to the Chicago Fire Department, which noted the driver refused medical attention. The victims ranged in age from 12 to 16, WLS reported, adding the bus was from City Baptist Schools in Hammond.

Two lanes of the interstate were closed for about an hour while the scene was cleared, according to state police, who said the investigation was ongoing.
