Snow Possible Early Friday For Far Northern Suburbs: IL Weather

ILLINOIS — The far northern Chicago metro area could see snowfall late Thursday and early Friday morning, according to the National Weather Service forecast.

A band of rain mixed with snow is possible for the Waukegan area, starting late Thursday, according to the weather service.

The weather service said if there are heavier rates of snow, which is uncertain, then there will be accumulation and some impacts to the morning commute. Minor accumulations of under an inch of snow is possible, the weather service said.

Friday afternoon is expected to be dry, with a high of 55 degrees, according to the weather service.

Saturday will also be sunny and dry, with a high of 45; followed by a warmer Sunday with a high of 54 degrees, the weather service said. There is a chance of rain on Sunday, including a slight chance of freezing rain early Sunday morning.

Snow showers are also possible late Sunday, according to the weather service.
