Southern Illinois Aviation Maintenance Students Tour Delta TechOps Global Headquarters in Atlanta

Chicago-Based Mentoring Mission and its Project AMPLiFI is Helping High School Students Study Airline Maintenance Through a Federal Grant

High school students from Southern Illinois recently gained exclusive behind-the-scenes access to Delta TechOps, the largest airline maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) provider in North America.

The March visit provided students from the Project AMPLIFI aviation program a firsthand look at the massive infrastructure required to maintain Delta Air Lines’ global fleet. During the tour, students engaged with a workforce of thousands of engineers and technicians, observing the precision and safety standards of a premier 24/7 aviation operation.

"Seeing a global leader like Delta TechOps in action turns classroom theory into a tangible career path," said Carol Valentino-Barry, Executive Director of Mentoring Mission. "We are incredibly grateful to the Delta TechOps team for hosting our students and showing them the scale of opportunity available in aviation maintenance."
