Spring Break Cancelled at Chicago State University
Budget crisis forces school to move up semester's end date, nix the weeklong break.

CHICAGO, IL - The annual Spring Break is one of the most memorable times for college students throughout the nation. But at one Chicago university, a budget crisis has caused the weeklong break from school to be cancelled.
Chicago State University will cancel its spring break - scheduled for March 14-19 - this year, according to CBS Chicago.
“As we all are aware, the budget stalemate in Springfield continues to be a major concern for the Chicago State University community,” President Thomas Calhoun Jr. said in a statement. “Please be assured that the university is doing all it can to minimize disruption and anxiety.”
The school’s spring semester will end on April 30, not May 15 which was originally planned.
