Stephen Colbert Tries to Sell Hot Dogs at Wrigley Field

"You guys want some meat in your mouth?"

CHICAGO, IL — "You guys want some meat in your mouth?"

Under the guise of Donny Franks, Stephen Colbert spent some time at Wrigley Field slinging hot dogs to unsuspecting patrons and making some double entendres in the process.

“If you have followed baseball for the last 108 years, you know that the Cubs have long struggled to make it to the post-season,” Colbert said while introducing the segment on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. “In fact, when I lived there, they were like that awkward dork you knew back in high school, because it was a miracle that either of them made it to first base.”

But that’s not the case anymore and Colbert went to Wrigley Field to pay tribute to those who work not in the field, but in the stands.

Sporting sunglasses, long, dark hair that makes him look like he just walked out of a dive bar and a thick Chicago accent, Colbert, er, Franks, was finally able to sell some dogs.

“Everybody’s a wiener. Come on. Step right up,” Colbert yelled before throwing dogs to whoever wanted one, and then demanding $6.50.

But the fun stopped when Cubs Manager Joe Maddon threw him out.

“You’ve done a really nice job, but that’s it,” Maddon said.
