Storms To Start The Week, Temps Near 90 Degrees For Illinois

Storms on Tuesday could be severe, with hail and damaging winds, the weather service said.

ILLINOIS — Warm temperatures will continue into the work week, although storms are possible on Monday and Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.

Highs of 89 degrees are possible on both Monday and Tuesday, according to the weather Service. There is a chance of storms Monday and Monday night, mainly north of Interstate 88.

On Tuesday, a cold front will move across the area, bringing scattered showers and storms, according to the weather service. Some of these storms could become severe, with threats of strong damaging winds, hail and torrential downpours.

By mid-week, temperatures will cool slightly, with a high of 79 expected on Wednesday, according to the weather service. Wednesday also looks to remain dry and sunny.

Thursday will have a high of 82, and Friday a high of 83, and there is a slight chance of showers on both days, the weather service said.
