Strong Storms Could Hit During Evening Commute
Wind gusts up to 70 mph, heavy rain and hail could hit Thursday afternoon and evening.

Severe storms could hit the Chicago area Thursday afternoon and evening.
The most probable severe weather hazard will be damaging winds of up to 70 mph with a lesser risk of hail. Even if storms do not become severe, deadly cloud-to- ground lightning and heavy downpours are also possible, according to the National Weather Service.

High temps for the Chicago area will be between 79 and 82 degrees on Thursday. The thunderstorm threat will end overnight. On Friday, temps will drop off with highs between 66 and 70 degrees. It's also expected to be breezy.

Saturday is expected to be dry with high temps between 75 and 79 degrees. On Sunday, rain could return with highs between 73 and 77 degrees.
