Strong Storms With Damaging Winds, Heavy Rain Possible In IL

Heavy downpours from storms could cause localized flooding in some areas, the weather service said.

ILLINOIS — Storms are once again possible for the Chicago area through Wednesday evening, the National Weather Service said. A few strong to marginally severe storms are possible, with threats of localized flooding and winds strong enough to down tree limbs, according to the weather service.

Storms are expected in the area between 3 and 10 p.m., according to the weather service.

Heavy downpours with the strongest storms could lead to some isolated flooding, the weather service said.

Periodic storms will also occur through the weekend, although many hours will still be dry. Possible storms on Thursday and Thursday night may post a threat for strong wind gusts, according to the weather service.

Hot temperatures will continue through the weekend as well, with a high of 90 degrees expected on Thursday, a high of 88 on Friday and a high of 91 on Saturday, according to the weather service.
