SWAT Standoff In Logan Square Ends Peacefully With 1 Person In Custody
UPDATED: No one was hurt in the incident Tuesday, which stemmed from a nearby armed robbery earlier in the day.

CHICAGO, IL — A standoff on the Northwest Side ended peacefully Tuesday when a person was taken into custody after a Chicago police SWAT unit and FBI agents surrounded a Logan Square building where several suspects in an earlier armed robbery had fled to, the Chicago Sun-Times reports. No one was hurt during the standoff, and charges still were pending against the apprehended individual as of Tuesday night, the report added.
The incident in the 3200 block of West Diversey Avenue began at around 4 p.m. Tuesday, June 6, when police responded to a call in connection with an armed robbery of a nearby private store earlier in the day, the report stated. That robbery — which was not an unsuccessful bank robbery, according to the FBI — happened at about 10:45 a.m. in the 2700 block of North Milwaukee Avenue, the report added. During the standoff, police shut down Diversey between Kedzie and Spaulding avenues, and CTA buses in the area were rerouted. the report stated. The incident ended at around 7:15 p.m., the report added.
