Swissôtel Chicago Flows into Autumn with Vitality Day Benefitting SOS Children's Villages Illinois

This year's focus will be on the mind and body with a vinyasa yoga class set to today's top hit music.

The Swissôtel Chicago’s fall Vitality Day, a flagship fitness and wellness-focused program, will take place on Thursday, Sept. 21. This year’s focus will be on the mind and body with a vinyasa yoga class set to today’s top hit music and led by New York City yogi, Emily Torockio. Proceeds from the class benefit SOS Children's Villages Illinois, a non-profit, child-welfare agency that serves children in foster care and at-risk youth in nearby communities, in some of Chicago’s highest crime neighborhoods.

Transforming the Swissôtel Chicago’s ballroom into a pseudo yoga studio, Chicagoans are invited to flow with Emily for one hour beginning at 6 p.m., and tickets are $20 with all proceeds being donated to SOS Children’s Villages Illinois. Emily, known for her high energy classes set to hip-hop hits, focuses on alignment-heavy vinyasa flow, allowing her students to be more attuned to their body and soul. After practicing the music-driven and feel-good flow, attendees will enjoy a vitality inspired menu crafted by Executive Chef Dan McGee, filled with delectable desserts and cocktails. Guests will also have the opportunity to relax with mini-massages courtesy of Spa42, and take home a yoga mat.

“We’re eager to bring together one of our pillars --vitality-- and one of our passions-- our work with SOS Children’s Villages Illinois-- and invite other Chicagoans to join in our efforts to spread awareness throughout the community,” said Swissôtel Chicago Marketing Manager Brittany Robbins. “It’s events like these that inspire hope and can help make a difference in children’s lives.”

Established in 2012, the Vitality Program reflects one of the Swissôtel’s three brand pillars and is an important element of Swissôtel Chicago’s culture. Swissôtel Chicago’s partnership with SOS Children’s Villages Illinois began in early 2015, and over the past two-and-a-half years, hotel colleagues and vendors have raised more than $43,000 to support the charity’s work, and created connecting experiences with SOS Illinois children and their foster parents through a range of hotel-hosted events.
