Teen Girl Shot Near Red Line Station: Chicago Police

The 16-year-old was on the sidewalk near the 95th/Dan Ryan station when she was shot, according to police.

CHICAGO, IL — A teen girl was shot Tuesday near the southernmost stop on the Red Line, according to police.

The incident occurred shortly after 4:30 p.m. in the zero block of West 95th Street, police said. The 16-year-old was on the sidewalk near the 95th/Dan Ryan station when she suffered a gunshot wound to the right leg from an unknown person, according to police.

The girl was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center and detectives are investigating, police said.
