Teen Scalds Cat With Hot Water, Posts Video to Facebook: Cops
Felony charges await the Greater Grand Crossing man accused of luring the cat to his rear porch.

CHICAGO, IL - A South Side teenager is in hot water after allegedly dumping a pot of it on a cat and posting the video of the incident to Facebook.
Police say Leon Teague, 18, of the 6900 block of King Drive was arrested after he was identified as the “the person who deliberately scalded a cat with a hot liquid.” He has been charged with one count of felony animal torture and one count of depiction of animal cruelty, a misdemeanor.
The video was posted to Facebook around 10 p.m. on Tuesday. It allegedly showed Teague luring the cat onto a rear porch and pouring boiling water onto the cat.

According to the Chicago Tribune, it was a white cat with black spots who was meowing near a blue litter box and a feeding tray near a rear porch in the same block of King Drive where Teague resides.
Someone behind the camera is shown holding a black pot of hot water and tosses it on the cat, who begins howling and runs away.

The man behind the camera then yells: “Get the f--- from over here b---- and don’t come back.”
The cat was seen in the area later but ran away when spotted by police.
The Chicago Police Department Animal Crimes team and Cook County Sheriff’s Department teamed in the investigation. Teague was scheduled to appear in bond court Friday.
