Temps Up To 60 Mid-Week, Before Cold Returns To Illinois

Expect a big warmup this week.

ILLINOIS — Gusty winds up to 40 mph and a chance of minor slushy snow accumulations were possible Sunday, before temperatures warm up again later in the work week, according to the National Weather Service.

There is a chance of light rain or snow on Monday, which has an expected high of 40 degrees, according to the weather service. Temperatures will start to warm on Tuesday, which has a high of 60.

Wednesday will have a chance of rain, but will also be warmer with a high of 60 degrees, according to the weather service.

Thursday will be sunny, but colder again with a high of 40, according to the weather service. Friday will also be mostly sunny with a high of 42, and there is a slight chance of rain and snow showers on Friday night, the weather service said.
