Hot Weather For 1st Full Week Of Fall In IL, Temps In 80s

Highs in the 80s are expected almost all week, with the coolest temperatures near the lake.

ILLINOIS — Temperatures will warm back up to the 80s this week, as dry and sunny weather is expected all week, according to the National Weather Service. Monday has a high of 88 degrees, before a lake-enhanced cold front provides a sharp afternoon cooldown near the lake, the weather service said.

The cooldown will bring high waves and a high swim risk for Lake Michigan beaches through Tuesday morning, according to the weather service.

Waves of 4 to 6 feet are possible, as well as life-threatening currents, the weather service said.
